Lars Kollind, Head of Business Development at iSoftBet
Question 1: Hi Lars! We appreciate talking to you and thank you for taking the time to be interviewed by us at Gamblorium! Given that Gamblorium quite recently became Affiliate Partner for iSoftBet, we would like to know a little bit more about your thoughts on the collaboration. What would you like to say about the partnership as a whole?
Since Gamblorium is an affiliate that focuses primarily on the Swedish market, having iSoftBet’s product portfolio showcased on this website will be great in expanding our reach to those audiences. Regulated markets such as Sweden are a strong focal point for iSoftBet and will continue to be in the foreseeable future, so as such, having our software marketed to such audiences will be key.
Question 2: How has 2022 treated you so far and is there anything you look forward to in the coming months?
We’ve got a very bright future ahead of us following the recent conclusion of IGT PlayDigital acquiring iSoftBet. Becoming part of the IGT family will allow us to provide our products in even more regulated markets where iSoftBet was not as prominent of a player prior to the acquisition, such as the USA and Canada. That said, having placed our focus on regulated markets has yielded amazing growth for iSoftBet, and we are very excited to see the payoff from all the hard work that went into making this partnership a reality in the past few months.
Question 3: How would a typical day look like as head of business development?
As I’m sure you can imagine, I work very closely alongside iSoftBet’s commercial and marketing teams in an effort to build and strengthen internal and external relationships. A large part of my job involves facilitating new game providers to come onboard with iSoftBet’s platforms, understanding customer needs and determining the best course of action to accommodate such commercial agreements, and implementing strategies to acquire new business opportunities. Of course, I find myself constantly pitching iSoftBet games to operators within regulated markets, and any commercial deals that we do strike will typically require constant follow-up in order to cultivate strong and fruitful relationships with our partners.
Question 4: Can you tell us a bit more about your collaboration with IGT?
All in all, this is truly a fantastic opportunity for us to expand our reach to new markets. By combining the product portfolios of IGT PlayDigital and iSoftBet, we can now better serve those respective regulated markets by offering an even wider range of games and betting solutions. Plus, iSoftBet’s aggregation platform will now be made to the US and Canada, a platform which IGT PlayDigital did not have under their belt prior to the acquisition. It’s a win-win for both companies, really. Furthermore, operators who’ve been partnered with iSoftBet will not only have access to market data in European regulated markets, but also data insights pertaining to the US and Canada, allowing them to better examine player behaviour in those markets. Not to mention the sheer expansion of knowledge across several areas of expertise between both companies.
Question 5: iSoftBet has a few games waiting to be launched during the coming weeks, how has the road been to getting everything ready?
Recently, we’ve been polishing up our upcoming games with a few more final touches to ensure that they play out and flow in a way which we are 100% happy with. We always find that the final stages of making a slot often count the most during the production cycle. For instance, our upcoming game Ocean Hunter, which is the latest addition to the Apex Predator series, features a unique 4-reel Free Spins mode which has been thoroughly tested across the company. We want to make sure that the “feel” of this 4-reel Free Spins feature is up to par in terms of quality expectations for the final product. Suffice to say, it’s always an exciting time for us whenever a game is ready to be launched. Marketing these games and generating that hype is definitely something we monitor with a keen eye and particular attention to detail.
Question 6: Finally, what is the best thing about working at iSoftBet?
Personally speaking, I love the flexibility we have towards working remotely. During my time at iSoftBet, there’s been a lot of freedom from that perspective. Working at this company has always been more about the quality of the work you deliver rather than simply clocking in the hours, by adopting a more trust-based management approach.
Besides flexibility, there is always a high degree of professionality practiced within the company, which is especially evident from our Compliance Team. Shoutout to those guys, because they make my job considerably easier when tapping into new regulated markets – it’s pretty much smooth sailing with them.
To top it off, prior to the acquisition by IGT PlayDigital, iSoftBet was still a very well-established player in the market, offering a wide portfolio of quality games and software solutions. This alone has made the process of generating interest and closing deals with new clients more streamlined for everyone involved.
